Crestwood Hispanic Guitar Bajo Sexto - San Antonio
Crestwood Hispanic Guitar Bajo Sexto- San Antonio
This is the bass guitar that is the foundation of conjunto and tejano music played in northern Mexico and Texas. It usually accompanies a button accordion.
While a standard 12-string guitar plays in the same octave as a 6-string guitar, the bajo sexto is tuned one octave lower than a guitar, and so requires special bajo sexto strings. The bajo sexto can be tuned (from bass to treble) like a guitar (E,A,D,G,B,E) or more traditionally as (E,A,D,G C,F).
